Description
1. Materials & Construction
-
Steel: Most high-tier clones use 904L Stainless Steel, the same grade used by Rolex, which provides superior corrosion resistance and a specific luster when polished.
-
The Bezel: This is the most difficult part to replicate. While the authentic bezel is solid 950 Platinum, the Euro Grade usually uses Zinc-plated or Rhodium-plated steel with a sandblasted finish. The raised numerals are polished to mimic the “Rolesium” look.
-
Crystal: High-quality Sapphire Crystal with a 2.5x magnification “Cyclops” lens. Look for a clear AR (anti-reflective) coating on the date window.
2. Movement (The “Engine”)
Euro Grade clones typically use one of two types of movements to mimic the Rolex Calibre 3235:
-
VR3235 or VS3235: These are “Super Clones” of the movement itself. They have the same architecture, allowing the date to change instantly at midnight and offering a power reserve of 60–70 hours.
-
Decorated Asian ETA: A standard reliable movement (like the 2824) with metal plates added on top to look like a Rolex movement. These are reliable but have a shorter power reserve (approx. 38–40 hours).
3. Dial & Aesthetics
-
Blue Sunray Dial: The “Euro” versions are known for getting the sunburst effect right—the light should radiate from the center in a crisp, metallic way.
-
Lume: They use Super-Luminova (Blue Chromalight). In high-grade versions, the glow should be a deep blue and last several hours.
-
Rehaut Engraving: The “ROLEX ROLEX ROLEX” engraving on the inner ring should align perfectly with the minute markers.
